You mean how to add a signature???

The signature is whatever text appears beneath that line at the bottom of every members post in a thread. For example, my sig is a Ben Franklin quote. I think that's what you were asking.

If you click on the members name it will take you to their profile where you can see their signature line. I do not know if there is some way you could see bunches of signature lines all at once

I didn't see your signature at the end of your post but I did find it on your profile. Thanks Kent

Hmmm. Sounds like you have signatures turned off in your custom settings. That option is there because some people put a lot of info and pics in their sig lines, and others don't want to repeatedly see all the same text and junk over and over as they scroll through a thread. For dial up users, the extra info can bog their computer down so they will turn them off as well.

I imagine you can turn them back on in your custom User CP settings if you wish to see them in people's regular posts. I can see yours under your posts.

    Yes. I found it.

Go up to the top and click on your username by 'Welcome'

After that, look to the far left side of the screen, in the bar. Click 'User CP'

One the left side there will be a bunch of options. Scroll down to heading "Settings & Options" Under that heading click, "Edit Options"

Then scroll down the page to heading "Thread Display Options"

There, you can check (click) the box next to 'show signatures'.

Then scroll down to the bottom and click on 'Save changes' before your'e done.

Then they'll show up in threads for you.

I don't need no stinking signature.

  10. The signature lines slowing down dialup users is actually a myth. I was on Dialup on message boards for a few months short of 5 years, and it didn't slow it down at all. It all has to do with the server being used. I post on now, with high speed, a forum that is even slower then others were when I was on dialup, and they don't allow pictures in signatures...

I agree with that. I thought we were into coins, not signatures.

Some posters have real helpful URL's in their signature that is why I was asking.

Whenever I try to add my website (or anything else) right under my signature, I get this: "BB code size value is too big." It won't let me add anything else by "The Penny Lady" - is there something I'm doing wrong?

There is a size limit I think of how many characters you can have in your URL. I had to use "tinyUrls" to get mine to fit into my signature line. I'm guessing that whatever you were trying to put in there was just too many characters???

No, all I was trying to add was "www.thepennylady.com"

Seems weird then, should work. Have you tried to clear your signature entirely and only put that??? Maybe the signature function is under repair or something while Peter is gone???

I've deleted my signature and started over, but still no go. And I've been trying to do this for months, on and off, so it's not a recent thing. I've tried using the different size fonts, but it just won't let me add anything else. I am perplexed!

The only thing I can think of is that there may be a rule against having "www" in your signature line that maybe I'm getting around by having the tinyurl??? but i see other folks with it so who knows????
