    Hey everyone!

Just want to show off my latest addition. :) It's a 1875 CC Trade Dollar. I would also like some opinions on it's authenticity. The toning on the coin looks pretty natural to me, and although cleaned at some point, it looks like it's coming together.

looks good to me, but I am always hesitant with these until i see them in hand.

Is UNITED as weakly impressed as the image makes it appear? If so, that is the area of most concern to me.

Hi Ryan, I have some concerns as to this coin's authenticity. There appear to be small raised metal bumps, or pimples, on Liberty's facing leg and foot. The 2 parts of the hair bun do not seem formed correctly (look at the little hollows inside them). On the reverse, the eagle's eye does not appear correctly formed, and the far right sprig of leaves is not properly formed- note the blob of metal between the lower 2 leaves. I think it may be a better quality Asian forgery. Sorry, but I feel obligated to offer an honest opinion (as one who has been fooled by some pretty good forgeries!)

Not and expert, but looks real as real can be imo. I would take to an expert to get it looked at.

I read somewhere here in this forum though that the Chinese had 1,500 years of cultural counterfeiting expertize.

Here's another 1875-cc for comparison, hope that helps (different dies, of course, and chopped)

Ryan Trade dollars are the easiest cions to be fooled by , the Chinese have gotton so good at them , the eagles eye should be round and incused , also for all the detail of Liberties dress , and eagles feathers , the lack of detail to her head concerns me . Ksparrow is dead on about the bun and eagles eye as being two top elements to look at from the recent high quality fakes from china .

Ryan , I bought a raw Trade dollar and was told it was fake by the man who wrote the CoinWorld article on Chinese fakes , turns out it was real after all , so don't give up hope on yours .
