How can i scan a coin and then post it so u guys see it. When ever i cscan it is to far away to see any detail and when i zoom in it gets blurry and distorted. thanx
hmmmm... Could be your resolution settings. Mine is adjustable, and I set it pretty high so that when I crop it down, the image doesn't breakdown too much. It depends on your scanner though. If you are using a digital camera, I can't help you, because mine was junk and never worked very well - proving the old saying 'you get what you pay for.'
I bought a kids toy and it works great. Its a Qx-5 digital microscope that plugs right into your computer. It has 10X, 60X, and 200X settings, with upper and lower light sources. I ordered it from Toysrus on Yahoo. When I'm not using it for coins my grandkids have fun looking at bugs and other yucky things. You can export the pics right to the computer or E-mail. It also has some neat options you can use. Ron F.
The QX 3 and some models of the QX 5 are well known for the quality pics they can produce. But like anything else - it takes practice. Just type QX5 into Google - you'll get a multitude of links to check out
I looked some up on the internetand found them selling for around $75.00. Also found a couple on ebay, I bid on one and got out bid to the point I could go buy a new one.
