That is definitely an S. What was ICG thinking? Is that an altered or fake slab?

    *confused*

Not only did ICG make a mistake, but the seller did not catch it.

I would say that I was losing faith in ICG except I'm not sure if I ever had faith in the first place. Remind me again of their acronymn (ICG = In Cluttered Garage?) Ok, the seller should have been able to tell that it was S too. Also, I always considered the coin copper not bronze.

I guess that some people collect error coins and others collect error slabs.

    :)

Also, I think I see a mess on the reverse of that coin. Or is it the slab?

Really supports ICG's claim that they are a top tier TPG, doesn't it?

Kinda reinforces the idea to stick with PCGS or NGC. Not saying they don't make mistakes but this one is pretty much in your face...

Talk about a real screwup,he could have listed it as an error coin and sold it for four times that.

I get a kick out of his description RD-67.
    MS-67 perhaps?

True, and that makes all the stranger. Normally, when submitting a coin, one knows what one is submitting !

Especially strange since the "S" is slightly better than the "D", and yet the submitter failed to get the problem rectified.

This is also what happens when you have "data entery" people run your ebay biz. They know nothing about coins just read the holders!

In 67 for sure and probably even 66, the D is better than the S. In fact in 67, PCGS lists the D as $4200, but the S as only $200. For NGC 67's, the D's go for $225 on Heritage but the S's only $61.

Yeah, if my memory serves me correctly, there weren't too many 1955-S cents produced in Denver that year!:D But all jokes aside, the winning bidder got it for $9.99. If that coin is genuine (not made in China or someone's basement), it was a pretty good deal.
