I have these two Canadian loonies, which seem to be commemorating one of the wars, but I'm not sure if I'm right or not. Here's a picture of the 1994 Loonie. 1994 Canadian Loonie Here's one of the 1995 Loonie. 1995 Canadian Loonie If someone could tell me what these are commemorating, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
The 1994 features the National War Memorial in Ottawa which commemorates the Canadians who died in the first world war. It was rededicated in 1982 for WWII and the Korean War. The 1995 commemorates Canada's commitment to world peace. Bill
These coins can be found in circulation in Canada.Canada followed in Bermuda's footsteps by issuing multiple 25c. coins in the same year for circulation.Bermuda's 25c. coins were issued in 1984,& the Canadian ones began in 1992 with the 125th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation. These depict scenes from all 10 Canadian provinces, plus the 2 territories. Aidan.
Look out for dates 2005, 2004, 2002 and 1992 as well. They all have special reverse on them. There are also ones with normal (loon design) reverse minted for general circulation in those years.
Thanks, everyone. Thanks, bromac4. And what coin is that in the picture beside your name in your post? Aidan Work, I have the complete 1992, 1999, and 2000 set of 25 cent coins, but thanks for bringing them up anyways. kvasir, I did know about those Loonies, and I tried to post something about them on this thread, but for some reason, when I clicked "post reply," a message came up on the next page saying I wasn't logged on. Yet I was logged on, or I wouldn't have been able to post my first message. Oh well.

To bromac4: How much did it cost you? To kvasir: Cool! What area do you live in? I'm in Glamorgan (SW).
The cost was $35.00 from the mint. The current ones are $40.00. I see them for sale frequently on e-bay. Bill
Those are neat! But why is the Queen always so grumpy. If my wife were queen, I'd think she'd be all "Hey Hi!" and "Look, I'm the Queen. See my pretty teeth and this swank crown!" Oh well.
