Having been gone a couple of days I figure I owe her a good dinner, so tonight it's a appetizer of chopped ripe and black olives, w/ pimento and a EVOO and vinegar dressing to spread on fresh Ciabatta bread. Roast pork loin w/ a garlic and roasted red pepper mustard glaze, and wild rice w/almond slivers and peas. Besides it's a good way to get a good meal. See, told you I could get into trouble all by myself.

34 Female. You are right there aren't many females that I know of with this hobby. People are a little surprised when I tell them that it's a hobby of mine.

Not too much. I did have a neat thing happen a few days ago. I was getting a change order ready for a business and 3 penny rolls in a row that I grabbed had a wheat penny showing on the end of the roll. I ended up opening several rolls from that batch and found 33 wheaties. One roll had 5 in it. Too bad I already had all 33 of them. I did upgrade one in my album though.

I have found several silver quarters lately which is weird for me cuz I had been talking about how I'd never found one in circulation and then have found a few in the last couple of months.

Other than that it's been pretty boring.

 

Whether or not you are a lady is not a factor, nor should it be. You asked for equal treatment. You shouldn't get special treatment because you are female.

You are a grown adult. Phrases like "half his age" are not necessary and rude.

Accusing people of misogyny is rude.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US HAS EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME THING.

But rather than whine about it, we simply move on to someone else. Whining "it's all because I'm a woman" is something made up. It's a delusion. And I call it whining because it is. It's also self-pitying, and our society is ready to move on past such out-dated thinking.

In complaining about bad treatment because you're a woman, that's playing the victim card.

 

Feelings are not fact. Feelings are not evidence. Perception is not reality.

It says a lot about our society that the term "misogyny" is so common. Everyone knows the meaning of that term.

Does any one of you know what a hatred of MEN is called ? Does a single one of you know that term ?

Is there any one of you who claims it doesn't exist ?

While there is much complaining about misogynistic generalizations, I suggest you turn on your television. You will consistently see men portrayed as bumbling morons, almost always inferior to the females.

And that's just the commercials.

The truth is men are constantly ridiculed with The Homer Simpson Effect. We're told we're slobs, drunks, murderers, philanderers, rapists... in short, victimizers.

And yet, the reality is this : when a job is physically challenging, requires long hours, is dangerous, unhealthy or unpleasant, or damages one's health, those jobs are almost always done by men.

Women complain more. Men have more to complain about.

So while we hear much complaining about misogynistic generalizations, a far worse problem are negative male stereotypes.

Misandrist generalizations.

 

38, male,I have two boys that are 10 that both collect. one is real big into canadien money. he just got a 1901 and 1888 five cent pieces the other day. the other one is big into currency. the one that collects currency, told me that Canada, no longer has paper money? is that right? he knows more than I do! I started collecting when i was about 8.

 

28 male here. And yes, I love gold coins as they are the main focus of my collection.

 

I'm sorry, but I don't know right now how to respond to such a barrage of negativity and insults.

I had NO idea until now that my feelings and experiences were invalid because someone else said they aren't.

But then again, I'll chalk it up to just plain need to attack people within the anonymity of the internet without any real-life retributions.

Just turned the big 50 two weeks ago and I'm a father of three (boy, girl, boy) none of which show much interest in my collection. They are interested in other things right now and don't have much money to collect on their own if they were interested in coins. Maybe in 20 years they'll covet my collection and I can hook them then!

 

Some pretty good finds there, looks like someone was cashing in an old piggy bank or something. congrats.
