What you have on the date the six is a hit and the U looks like a form of die deterioration. I have many like that It's DDD no doubled die sorry. JC
Yes there is, http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1967&die_id=1967p1do001&die_state=mds
The 1967 -DO-001 doesn't really have any visible doubling on the date, it is the bar beneath the L in Liberty, so Jess, let's see the "L". Jim
1967P-1DO-001 and the two in the CONECA files, DDO-001 & 002 are all class V DDOs impacting just the L in LIBERTY. There are a lot of extra parts of the L on mid to early sixties Lincolns for some reason. Anyway, that doesn't help with this coin...
My answer was to his question " Is there any DDO's for this year?" It is always best to rule out all the options before throwing it in the bucket.
I see your point and I don't disagree ...Upon further examination of the pics provided and a '67 under the scope I am tending to agree with JC that the 6 (and maybe the U) have suffered a blow of some sort (could be something else). They don't exhibit extra thickness, or notches and they appear normal sized with what appears to be a mark that mimics a separation line.
The "LIBERTY" part is a no-go. There is no extra addition to the "L", and I agree that it probably is MD. Thanks for answering my other ? about other DDO's. Now I have something to check up on.
