As a casual seller EBay is becoming more challenging to make any money with so I’m exploring other online options. USA Coinbook looks easy to use and has low selling fees. Those with experience: -Any pros and cons to know? -Is it pretty active in terms of buyers finding it? I looked at Collectors Corner but am not a dealer so I don’t think I can sell there. If you know of other good options I would love to hear about those too? Thanks, Mike
I'm with you regarding eBay. I had sold some of my duplicates over the past 20 years or so. I won't use them to sell because they are too complicated and greedy.
I've used coinbook. No issues. I had some stuff that wasn't moving on ebay that I sold on coinbook. But I cut back the price as an offset to lower fees.
My only experience with USA Coinbook was running a set of 10-day auctions for some self-assembled US Toner Type Sets. Most sets didn't even get bids over the face value of the sets. To be fair, it was my first time running auctions there, so it's entirely possible people would avoid the listings for many reasons (including my new status, although I linked that account to my eBay feedback, so it's not like I would have come across as a complete new seller.) I liked that it was free to list and I could choose the duration of my listings. I did not like the pervasive advertising that popped up every time I switched a screen, and I also didn't enjoy that not a single listing sold. I found that the amount of time invested in creating each listing was approximately the same as eBay. Since none of the listings sold, I cannot speak to any further stages of the selling process there.
oh yeah, usacoinbook doesn't have the versatility that ebay has when it comes to shipping, unless I haven't figured it out. I use USPS priority mail on-line exclusively so I don't have to wait in the long line at my local post office.
