For those of you who can view Coin World, they now have the 2010 quarters designs for the National Parks up for viewing. Nice designs. Predictable, though.

Disappointed to see that the same old George obverse will be on the quarters. The Mint sure is timid in its "bold" programs. One good thing about the new designs is that they will seek some more uniformity by selecting one subject from the park and highlighting it. No more of these multi-subject coins trying to get everything on a single reverse.

Overall, I like the program, but it seems like the Mint can still be a bit more creative (with the obverse). But I'll take what I can get.

Great grizz. If someone can find these images where you don't need to login, that would be great.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Grizz.

I like the border with lettering on the reverse. That's nice and reminds me of the last westward nickel, Ocean in View.

There's also Yellowstone, which combines the reverse/obverse from the Yellowstone commemerative dollar..... a Bison standing in front of Old Faithful.

    Overall, pleasing.

  8. I actually like them. Looking forward to seeing them in hand. Quarters are the only issues that the new versions actually circulate in my area.

I was reading in Numismatic news last night that the two groups involved, (the CFA,and the CCAC), are in dissagreement over some of the designs still. The yellowstone one in particular.

Interesting, those ARE NOT the designs my copy of Coin World says the CACC picked for Yosemite and Hot Springs

Yes, conder, that is interesting. Looks like the details still need to be finalized, but the subject has been finalized.

I like the border. It sure would have been nice to see something other the Grand Canyon and Yosemite used...again, especially for two states with such diversity in natural features.

The designs look nice. First I've seen of them. But it feels weird to me. The state program I could understand. It seemed to make sense.

This just seems kind of 'gimmicky'. Although I like the designs, I'd be happier if they'd go back to one simple design. An 11 year program is too much for me. I'm really on the fence on whether or not I will bother collecting anything from this series.

I like bald eagle reverses. They should have simply made a new 3D designed eagle reverse for the 21st century and been done with it.

This will inundate the hobby with so many types of quarters, I think people will get burnt out if they aren't already. I read in Coinage this month that there was a huge drop off in orders for the U.S. territories quarters this year. Signaling that the public was severely losing interest in the program.

Unfortunately, the parks bill has already been passed.

That's cool, one of them features Mt. Hood...a mountain I get to enjoy everyday as I walk to school. Beautiful view.
