I noticed this gouge in the reverse of this 2004 P nickel and need some help deciding if this is an error. I attached a scanned photo of the nickel. Looks as if a foreign object was on the surface of the die or planchet before striking. The photo looks like it could be a post mint error, however in person the gouge is very clean. Thanks in advance for your help. BTW, this is a great site. I have been reading these forums for a while, but this is my first post. -Steve
