I've recently purchased a $1 FRBN with the grade of 64CH UNC and on the reverse PMG mentioned HINGED.The only thing that I can think of is when you use the corner of the bill to mount in a book. Thanks Randy

It means it had a piece of paper glued to it like with art work. I know that they use a wheat paste nowadays. I don't know if you are new to currency but If I am buying a high grade note it is best to look for the EPQ designation , Exceptional Paper quality on PMG. That way you know there is no problem with the paper.

nice note either way rjbeck! i have never heard of a hinged designation myself. The EPQ designation is alo nice, but highly desireable, and thus, more pricey :0)
