what type error are these?

    can you tell me anything about what these are? I dont even know if it is considered an error. thanks--BILL

    I'm assuming you mean the 'lamination error'. The peeling and split look on the coin.

    Lamination Error's.
    A section can peel up or appear to be peeling from the surface of that coin. A lamination error can appear as a jagged area of metal on the surface of the coin.
    This should not be confused with a 'struck through'.

    yes that is what I am looking at. are they considered errors? what would you call them? (lamination error)? thanks --BILL

    Yes that's what they are,and not all lamination errors have peeling on the fields of the coin.

    Lamination or a bad planchet.

    De-lamination errors are common on most dates, I once pondered making a complete set of coins with lamination errors.
