I found a 1957 2-headed Jefferson nickel. Is that a common error or something out of the ordinary? If the latter, how would I find out how much this error is worth? Note: I have a number of Lincoln cents with errors as well -- is there a good web site to look these up? Thanks for your help! Rod
Odds are your nickel wasn't produced at the Mint. It's probably a magician's coin, which do pop up in circulation from time to time. What happens is that someone will take two obverses or reverses ("heads" and "tails," respectively) from two seperate coins, hollow one out, and put the other in it. Some of these can be of high quality. If you look very carefully along the edge or along the rim, you might see the seam. As for the values of your Lincoln cent errors, the best thing to do is probably to troll through Ebay for similar stuff.
