Last weekend I bought a few things at the local show, my report is in another thread. Just received my new (used) camera and here are photos of 3 of them:

First, an Antitietam Half, bought from the Reeded Edge:

Next, is an inexpensive Panamanian Balboa. I really like the design and the toning!

Finally, this Hard Times token, featuring the 'Merchant's Exchange,' which I believe functioned as the Stock Exchange for a time:

Feel free to guess the grade on the Antietam, it is a problem free coin.

Okay - my guess is 64; I know nothing about them. And I agree the toning on the balboa is very nice. Nice trio of coins.

I also bought these 2 souvenir medals from Larry Engle of Charlottesville, interesting to compare the changes in architecture that took place in 40 years.

Very nice coins, ksparrow. I like the stock exchange one the best!

Thanks, I went to the show specifically looking for the Antietam half and some circ SLQ's, but the fun was in checking out the dealers' stuff and chatting them up to see what they are interested in. That's when you stumble onto neat things, like the souvenir pieces.

I'll post the grade on the Antietam tomorrow, in case anyone else wants to take a stab at it. (Maybe start a 'guess the grade' thread, huh?)

I love the Antietam half! I wish I had one. I walked across that bridge a couple years ago. Really cool old structure. That is a great commemorative. Nice addition to the collection.

Yep, really like the Antietam commem half.
I collect early commems but low priority so lots of holes and not many pick-ups.
I'd certainly be proud to have that one in my collection.
    Nice going.
