So the question is; Did you know that your $20 Small Size Fed District Set will require (4) Four $20 denomination Notes for the Series 1934 C? 1. The Standard Issue Note every district "Old Back" and "New Back". 2. The Star Notes both "Old Back" and "New Back" Here they are...for you. Starting with the Standard Issue Old Back... The 34 C Star has the same back as this so I did not post it. It is easy to tell the new back from the old...look at the Trees and shrubs..the old is less embellished. Have you tried to find these? And yes I am talking in Grades no less than CHCU63!! The cool thing is that I have sequential numbered notes of the "Old Back" non-stars ending in 1922 and 1923 both Gem...these were bought at different times through different sources...LOL RickieB
Thought I would put the images up so it would be easier to see. And another set bites the dust!! RickieB
Great notes RickieB, I can see there has been some growth in the trees and bushes over the years hehe. I dont have any 20s from that year in any grade. That is neat about the varieties!
Thanks guy's...appreciate you taking a look. schwalbe..LOL no not quite....there is no entry fee! Thanks for the mention, however, I do have a ways to go yet! There are just some notes in the Small Size Collection that are next to impossible!! The Series 1928 Star Note from the NewYork Fed Bank ($10 Denom) was on my hit list for the Long Beach Show. I bid $2800 as it was the only known note at PMG....it sold for a measly ~$3800...WOW..yep thats right 3.8K...that would have put me near the 10K mark for that auction...LOL It will come home to me one day..just not sure when and for how much!! RickieB
you should make a website for all those people to view. i'd be interested in seeing what you have. it must be very impressive. you got a great wife to be this understanding.
He dows have a webiste where he shares his collection, you can easily find it at www.cointalk.com And another set finished eh' RickieB??? man you are on fire!!! But then again ... you have been working hard on this for some time now - its great to see some of your hard work paying off!!
Dammit RickieB! I didn't realize the backs changed in the mid-Series like 2006 $5 FRN. Now, I have to add Series 1934 C $20 FRN "Old Back" to my want list. Thanks alot! I think I built a pretty good page illustrating the difference for the backs: http://www.panix.com/~clay/currency/1934C-back.html
What district do you need Clay... I know where a Nice Gem Atlanta "Old Back" is....and try finding the Stars!! Man thats the tough part..if you do find it be prepared to go above the mark and stay up with the auction till the end! RickieB
The Series 1928 C and D $5 FRNs and Series 1928 C $10 FRN are "a little" pricey, but not like the Series 1933 $10 SC! -- I recorded an EF 40 being sold for $9,999.
nice set. i just need the 1934 C "old back" star. i have the other 3. they arent quite CH CU but i like them none the less :thumb: 1934 C $20 "OLD BACK" 1934 C $20 "NEW BACK" 1934 C $20 **STAR NOTE** "NEW BACK"
I don't really care about the district at this point -- I'm just trying to fill in every Series of small-size notes. Believe me, I know how tough it is trying to find a specific note! Every day I look for specific notes that I need to complete a set I'm working on, and they just don't pop up on a regular basis...
Hi Rickie I'm sure if it's in your sights your get it someday for sure...do you have a Spider Press in your garage ? LOL
Thanks Rickie.....Like I said before, I'd love to see your collection at a show one day, that would be loads of fun! I have only one 1934 $20 note, and that will do me for now. LOL. However, I love to be educated especially since at some point in the future when I finish my father's coin albums, I will define my collecting direction differently than now and I love the knowledge that I get from reading your posts (and others) about currency collecting!
Bobbeth... Perhaps one day if I can ever get off my rear end and build a website, I just might do that, however, I have had a negative experience about publishing the ciollection as a whole once before...not to sure if I want to go back there or not. RickieB
Rickie B, If you ever deceide to do it again get help a well known web master with experience in Paper Money posting & a good digital photographer & copywright protection in case you want to publish in book form or disk.Quite an undertaking in your case but just think of the cash rolling in to buy more notes in your sights & Vol #2 w/the profits.I'm sure you could do it & make a nice profit. Just a suggestion for title " Unfinished Masterpiece". Think About it.... Connor1
Whoooaaaa there Horse!! How about an "Unfinished Master Disater"..LOL I'm no where even close to that thought...LOL with a piddly 400 notes, that shant get me too far huh?? But I like the Title!! RickieB
GOTCHA ....RickieB "Horse before the cart",you forgot to mention 400 High Grade Notes, don't under sell yourself.LOL
