    definitely post mint damage, you can see the marks from the metal sheers they used on the obverse

    Always look for the "Blaksley Effect"

    Always look for the "Blaksley Effect" - directly across form the clip should be a bulged area (on the rim generally) where the planchet did not contact very well in the upsetting mill because of the clip - it is a weak area that will confirm your clip. Note: Its's not always the case but most of the time it will confirm your error.
