I read the past postings on here about mail order companies like Paul Sims and Coast to Coast coins and I was wondering, does anybody know of New World Rarities or Millers Mint, if they are reputable?

Also, is there any other mail order companies that are ok? Or should they all be avoided??

    Thanks

There are many coin dealers that are very active members of this forum with some advertising and others you will get to know after a time. I guess it boils down to full time dealers vs part time dealers.

I will say they have to be very reputable to sell coins and be active Coin Talk members at the same time. If they were not have no doubt the "word" would get out here very fast.

Why don't you try with letting people know what kind of coins you are interested in and see what kind of responses you can get.

    Hope this helps, and welcome.

edited - sorry, but our rules do not permit you to do that

So any help would be appriciated.

    Thanks

What you need to do imal is participate a bit more. Once you have 10 posts or more, then you will be able to post a copy of your want list in the Open forum.

Meanwhile, just join in the conversations or ask any questions you may have.

    sorry about that

Now that I know the rules. Ok, so does anyone know of a reputable mail order dealer?? In my area I have only one coin dealer and he gets very little stuff now adays since he said he will be retiring soon.

Any help would be appriciated--mail order, or E-bay sellers is also ok

    Thanks

As to on line dealers, I'm not a big fan of any of them. I've tried a few in the past and they were basically OK but nothing to brag about. That Millers Mint you mentioned is one of the ones I did try. Fantastic catalog they sent me with a massive inventory. Prices were decent so I tried once but I am a coin show person and having to add insurances, postage, handling and with some a restoking fee if returning.
My opinion is to avoid any place where you can not actually see what your buying. To me, places on the internet would be like buying a car, site unseen.
