http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-VDB-Linc...b0fb&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262#ht_500wt_1182 Looks real, a few have had a hard time determining from the pics if it is real or not. MS? EF? AU?
Horrible pics. I wouldn't buy an MS coin unless the pics clearly show it. Especially one over $1000!!! And what's with the scratches above the date?
looks like it was probably polished at some point... not enough there to tell for sure if it's even authentic. I'd need a closeup of the date and MM before we could tell if it was good or not. It could very well be a Chinese counterfiet as well.
Yes it does. The buyer looks legit too. If you have any doubts, you could ask the dealer questions too. put them on the spot.
So for a coin like this, how much would you pay? Or how much would you not pay more than? Also. read the buyer's negative feedback here http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User= jabetz+&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home He's overgraded in the past....
Like I said, put him on the spot. Tell him you have read his feedback comments(be it good or bad) and tell him that for a coin this valuable, you may need further evidence of it's authenticity. If he can't do that, then there might be something wrong w/ his sale of it. It may not be the coin shown, it might be. If he is really trying to sell it and make money, he should not have any problems with any of your questions. I wouldn't:goof:
