Anyone collect them? I do, but I only have like 12 of them...my best a 1885-O MS64 PL Any good for only being 11 years old?
Thats not the best way to look at it....PCI is known to overgrade coins and it always is wrong to go with a grade just becuase its worth more... I have a ANACS F-15 1938-D Half dollar....but I don't think it grades F--it only grades VG...so what do you think is the best thing for me to do if I sell it...sell it at a F just to get more $$...or sell it as a VG because that is what it really is? Here is a photo of a PL Morgan...this is not mine but is one I have seen---its graded MS65 PL by NGC Speedy
what a beautiful coin, I have started a full book collection of XF+ Morgans..i have 15 or so...anybody know where i can get a book for em -James
I agree...it doesn't look PL.....but the good thing is that the the coin in the PCI holder on the end (green lable) is from when PCI was new...they were better back them...as for the one in the gold lable slab (PCI) it might be overgraded and it might not--I would have to seen good detailed photos of both sites. When you scan a coin it washes out the luster...and that is important in grading. Speedy
As I said...to grade you have to have photos of both sides... From this side they look nice...they are in the MS's from MS62-MS64...can't say anything else.... Speedy
Problem free....I dout that...I have never seen a Morgan dollar that didn't have a mark on it...bag marks and if they were Problem free NGC would have graded that much higher.... I would suggest that you get a copy of Photograde and the 5th edition of the ANA guide to grading... Speedy
Speedy, I think you made him think that scanning his coins would hurt the luster of the coin, instead of the luster in the photo's of the coins.
