Welcome to Coin Talk and welcome back to the hobby. Lot of advice here, often totally different from someone else, your decision to read and decide what is best for you. Thank goodness we all don't agree on everything. Personally I don't like to buy key or semi-key coins at the beginning. Someone posted on here a long time ago to buy the more common first and you collect you learn more about the coin.

That has worked well for me, but however you do it have fun.

One thing I would suggest before you start spending money on the coins is to first spend a little on books. The old saying is "buy the book before you buy the coin." The Redbook is indespensible and I'm sure folks here can suggest others. The way you are going, there will come a time when you will probably be disappointed with a lot of your initial purchases and end up having to upgrade them. So as painful as it is to go slow and study before you buy, it will be worth it in the long run.

It's also a good idea to sell a coin now and then. This is when you learn what coins are really worth and will help keep you from overpaying.

In this hobby it's pretty easy to buy coins cheap. It's really hard to sell them for more.
