Mine is a 1920 Canadian 50 cent peice that needs magnification to read the date. I got it to fill a hole but have since aquired a better one.
Todays waitress got a very nice Two Cent piece as her tip. I did manage to get a free desert This young lady is a new collector and was thrilled with the coin. Now into the hopper for the next pocket piece.......
Newbie pocket piece Hello all! I am a lurker coming out of the closet. Great board! Mine is a 2000 Silver Eagle I received as a gift at work for a job well done. I'll carry it even when it is just a slick. Cris
Welcome to the forum. You keep lurking around and we will have you giving that eagle as a tip to someone. Be sure to enter this weeks drawing.
Well I don't have a picture of it....but I have a silver Washington quarter on my keychain. It's very worn and it's definetely grown on me. Looks manly too
Lately, I've been spreading around Kennedy's and Ikes. Always have a few on me. (Yesterday, I paid for a can of juice with an Ike. Guy behind the counter didn't know what it was. I told him it was an old dollar. He lit up: "Wow, I'll keep this myself!", and put it in his pocket. You never know what someone's reaction will be. It's fun.)
I've been short on cash before and needed something bad enough to pay with some Eisenhowers and some Susan B's. Even our modern Kennedy half dollars... It's part of our currency...so strange that people don't know what these coins are. You could tell them that it's a $10 silver piece and they'd take it.
as for the ol' pocket pieces my new one is a Walking Liberty Quarter (given to me by Jody). I find the design fascinating and would like to thank him for his kindness. I also recieved the set of steel pennies sent to me by Peter. Thanks a bunch guys
