Yesterdays Knoxville Coin Show was fairly well attended at least for the first 4 hours which is typical for summer shows. Silver was being bought for 11.4X face to 12X for U.S. 90%. War nickles were a wooping .47 cents each, (that surprised me). Gold was about $885 to $945 an once unless pure. Silver Eagles were $18 to $20.50 for common. The 3rd issue Lincoln's were about $4.50 to $7 a roll, ("D"'s were more availible than "P"'s, strange) - The first 2 issues by the roll were dead. I bought a second issue "P" box face value, .50 cents a roll. Several people were searching for type coins with good eye appeal, (when is that not the case?). Wheat cents wholesale seemed to have dropped of a bit stuggling to reach $150 to $175 a bag. Two hugh World coin collections went for almost nothing - I was shocked! People bringing in these huge note books of hundreds, thousands of coins in 2x2's going for a few cents each. The sellers stating they just wanted rid of them. A few groups of clad slightly circ. moderns such as Roosevelts, Jefferson's people had put up in albums got the said news to just "spend them". Many regular Mom's & Pop's still not there as regular as they had been - this economy is still very poor! That's about it - next show Oct. 24th!!!
