What's up guys, I just became a member a few weeks ago, and this is my second or third posting to the forum. I just started collecting coins with my wife and we are really getting into it. We been getting some rolls of coins from our bank and gone home and started to see if we find something interesting. Last week we found a silver dime in one of the rolls that we had we were very happy to know that u could still find this coins in circulation. I have a friend that collects coins, and last week she gave us a 1963 silver half a dollar for our collection. So far we have found some 1943 nickels too. well guys looking foward to keep readings the good topics that are posted in this forum.
welcome to coin talk, and yes you will be amazed what you can find in your own pocket change!!!!!:hail:
WELCOME TO THE FORUM AGAIN. Now more than ever watch for old coins in change or from a bank. Coin robberies are on the increase and as a general rule, criminals just put all coins back into circulation. If you ever watch that program on TV called Cops, they just had one where they caught a burlar in a house. He was dumping coins from a collection all into a bag with watches, pens, etc. Just dumping them in. If not caught, those coins would have been used in vending machines probably.
Finding silver in circulation is exciting no matter how long you collect. For some folks, it becomes an obsession to search rolls of half dollars looking for silver. It's one of the only "free lunches" in collecting. All it takes is time.
Welcome to Coin Talk. This last week I was working up in Bennington, VT. and came across a silver 1964 Dime at work and was very happy. The last time I found silver in circulation was 3 months prior to now and also when I was sent to work in Bennington, VT. for 2 weeks ( I found a WWII Silver Nickel, given to me as change at work ). I find it is getting more difficult to find silver in circulation the older I get, but it is still exciting.
