Instead of making a thread for each coin in question.. I just want to have this thread for any future coin opinions. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=29093&Lot_No=24368#Photo That's a 1937-d 3 legger VF35 for $833 It's bright and shiny, just the way I love em but the reverse looks a little whacky. I don't collect Buffalos' but what leads you to believe it's been cleaned? Because I can't see any signs of a cleaning.
Haha some of you guys are a trip.. It seems like I'm always wrong here.. I say one thing, the next guy criticizes me. This pattern never ends.. At least I am starting to pick up on it. I don't take it personally but come on, every time I show a coin I like "it's cleaned" every time I show a coin I think is cleaned, "it's not". Give me a break. No offense Anyway, would this be an MS-63? Say if I got it and sent it over to PCGS, what do you think it'd come back as?
I'm not criticizing you at all. I simply don't believe the coin has been cleaned, and I was wondering what lead you to believe it has been cleaned, nothing more.
Not you but others.. I just base it on experience from the forum. I've shown coins that have looked near perfect like that one to people and they would say "cleaned". Almost was a knee jerk reaction.
How do you know I was looking at the wrong one? I'm not criticizing you at all, nor am I a trip (what the hell is a "trip"). I simply don't think it's been cleaned. It would help if you would told us why YOU think it's been cleaned. stainless
-Well, do YOU think the VF35 reverse is gorgeous? You tell me. Maybe it's a bad picture hell if I know. -A trip, look it up, it's common slang. -I explained to raider why I thought it was cleaned.
No, it is not gorgeous, but it is a VF35 and a 3 legged buffy (although, I will admit, I think that grade is exaggerated by about 5 points). That's not an explanation though..Looking at the coin, why do you say it's clean? Just because other people say it has been cleaned, without explanation, doesn't mean anything. I found that out the hard way with calling ancient coins fakes. I know what trip means..it was a joke :thumb: (not a funny one) stainless
Thanks no offense anyways.. What do you think of that Buffalo Nickel on ebay? What grade would you assign it and how much would you pay for it? It is very pretty.
I'm willing to go no higher than AU-58 because of those pics (that, and have limited experince with grading this series). Also, may be only details because of the obverse scratch. stainless
My opinion is that you should pass on both of the Heritage coins. Neither has any eye appeal IMO. With regards to the E-Bay coin, I will give you this very blunt advice. You don't have anywhere near the requisite experience needed to be purchasing a raw, key date, commonly counterfeited/altered coin sight unseen on E-Bay.
I can see flowlines on that Buffalo; they appear to be natural in my opinion (not imparted by whizzing). If that Buffalo WAS cleaned, it was done by a master! Beautiful coin in my eyes.
