    call me crazy, but I am seeing the denticles and mebbe the lettering of a morgan hiding in there..... i think the first pic in there is of the reverse of the coin....

    No way I am disagreeing with you on that one.... lol was getting a headache from trying to find the unchopped 1% of that coin.... ;)

    I wrote my original message "from memory" then went and looked at the coin again and noticed it was DEI I saw and not REX and I corrected my post, withing a couple of minutes, but you were on that like a toad to a puddle. :D However, there is that "X" that pops up somewhere else and a few other pieces of the legend that are visible. :kewl:

    It sure is one messed up coin! :goofer:

    I know exactly what it is!!! It is a 1974 proof set (minus the jefferson nickel) that was run over by an amtrak on the 3rd of may of the year in question!!!!!:bigeyes::bigeyes:

    You guys are correct it was a Mexico Silver dollar , I believe Ferdinand VII. Here are a few comparison pics.I think I have the rotation correct.

    I dont know why the images wont go bigger they are set at 700x600 & appear that way in my saved files.
