I am new to this site but have a question on paper money,,,I have been collecting for several years but just got the Red Book for Paper Money and have a question on one of the colums in it..the first colum on the left says: No. 1 (then a 1-4 diget number) followed by a letter, does any one know what this colum refers to?

that is a numbering system known as friedberg numbers or FR. they are not listed anywhere on the note itself. lol dont drive yourself crazy trying to find it :thumb:

Let's make him real crazy -- Two numbering systems are used to uniquely identify currency, Friedberg (FR) Numbers (from Robert Friedberg), or Krause-Lemke (KL) Numbers (from Chester L. Krause and Robert F. Lemke).

lol that will do it! FR-1901 and P-118 could be reffering to the same note. They dont in this example as they are numbers i just guessed at .. but you get the point :D
