Tom this is my most favorite coin by chance could you provide a close up of the obverse betwen the 11 and 12 o'clock position and also of the sun? I could give you a knee jerk grade but it would be more accurate if I had those close ups.
Whoa, Now there is a nice coin. Definitely in the MS catagory As WLH says' bigger is better' pics. I would venture a guess at MS-62 with ease. BUT AWAIT PICS TO CONFIRM(UPGRADE)
I tried again w/pics. Not sure I can get a whole lot closer with the camera. Pic taking thing is new to me.
Okay Tom unfortunately, your pictures left me with more questions. I am hoping we can work together on this. First if you own a loupe that would be cool, if not no worries you will have to use the naked eye. Fist on the obverse the metal between the letters 'R' and "E" does it seem to match the surface of the rest of the field or is it wavy? Like what you might see on a beach. The spot in the sun looks like a nick or hole. Is that what this is or is it a black spot? Then third on lady Liberties dress towards her right leg on the lines in her dress. Is that metal movement there? Tom if you can assess those 3 areas it would help tremendously. One last question Tom I promise out of the 4 sets of pictures which is closet to what it looks like in hand? Good pictures by the way.
The coin appears to exhibit slight rub on each side (including on Liberty's leg and breasts, as well as on the eagle) though I can't tell for certain. My best guess would be AU58.
Mark I know better than to challenge you but I have to ask did you take into account the 5th and 6th tines in the suns rays? Sorry Mark I just have to ask. Really it is not a personal attack.
