1851 large cent "Mature Head", "normal date", VG8-F12 according to the Red Book grading guide, mintage 9,889,707 including the overdate variety. In my six-year-old book the value is given as $14-16.

The thick rim appears normal for this issue.

I agree but closer to F-12 maybe slightly higher. Heritage listed two 1951 one VG-8 cleaned in aug of the year for $16.00 and the other F-12 also cleaned in jan 08 for $23.00. Both were graded by ANACS. It looks like the price maybe going down because they also listed a VG-10 NGC in Jan 06 for $80.50.

Not too bad of a price Tom, the prices that I stated were for cleaned coins and your did not looked cleaned. So that is a good ball park.

    Nice coin Tom.

Tom, as I say " if you like the coin BUY it", You can't put a price on something you like.
