I have found 4 Japanese coins in my random foreign coin collection and haven't been able to translate the dates. There is a 5 yen and three 10 yen coins. If you can translate the dates for me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!
Brass ¥5, Showa 43 (1968) - Bronze ¥10, Showa 29 (1954) Bronze ¥10, Showa 35 (1960) - Bronze ¥10, Showa 44 (1969) Check out this site.
Converter for all japanese (Showa) dates For example - Year converter for 昭和四十三年 -> 1968 (your 5 yen) p.s. Catalog Hirohito (Showa) coins 1949-1989 with japanese dates
It also works for Meiji, Taisho and Heisei for 1870-present coverage, but isn't it simpler to just mentally add the coin's year to 67 for Meiji, 11 for Taisho, 25 for Showa and 88 for Heisei?
