I have a question about a the 1934 $10 FRN issued by the Dallas Bank (K). I've seen the catalog price set at 400.00 and noticed a few for sale from $370 - $400 online. So I thought I'd check out the serial numbers for the issue at USpapermoney.Info to find out how rare this issue was. Well, aparently it isn't rare are all. The notes on that sire are coalleced together with all 1934 series (1934, 1934A, B, C, D) and the notes issued from the Dallas Branch number 80,712,000. This is a far cry from the least issued which is from teh Chicago branch (G) at 2,156,000. So - why is the Dallas branch so expensive then? Must be something else.
The 1934 FRN's where issued with a light green seal and also a dark green seal. The Dallas light green seal FRN's in CH CU condition are priced around $400.00 and the Dallas dark green seal FRN's are priced around $100.00. Lou
Lou is correct...the Light "Vivid Green Seal" is much more desirable, and significantly less of them printed. RickieB
THanks for the replies. As it turns out, I just made a wonderful deal, getting a PCGS graded 64 PPQ for less than half the catalog. Hmmm. THinking I should get the other one too... Nah, I'm not greedy.
Were you the one with the 190 bid on Heritage?? I almost sniped ya if it was you...good deal on that note! Had I not spent a small fortune at Long Beach...I would jumped on that note! RickieB
