    Hello all:

I am looking at storing some of my not so valuable coins in the 2x2 cards but I have heard that they are not the best for long term storage. Has anybody used this type of storage for long term safe keeping and if so, what has been your satisfaction? If not, what type of less expensive storage media have you used and been satisfied with?

Also, I was looking at using the self adhesive 2x2s but I have heard that they may come apart after a few years and that they glue can cause damage to the coins.

    Thanks in advance

I would avoid the self adhesive 2x2s. Those adhesives carry chemicals which have fumes. Over the long haul, those will adversely effect the coin. Overall, 2x2s are decent for storage with less valuable coins. They're pretty inexpensive, and I think they are all made (today) with non-acidic plastics that work just fine.

If you intend to use any sort of flip - be careful to purchase the non-PVC type.

I think your best bet is the standard classic 2x2.
