Well friends, It is all but 90% official...my Heritage records indicate that I have won this Lot as well. I will find out for sure on Monday...but it has been added to my total $$ due. Many of you know that I admire the collection of the Late Thomas M. Flynn (and consider him a silent mentor), I am happy to say I have added my 7th Note from his collection. I hope you enjoy seeing this Fancy Back $1 Silver Cert...is'nt she a Beauty!! Regards to all... RickieB
martha didnt appear on many notes ... heck, not many women at all did ... but she had an elegance that added to the overall art and beauty of any note she is depicted on ... Very nice addiction RickieB! You will soon have to resibmitt the notes for the RickieB collection to be added to the labels
Daggarjon.. She appeared on two... this Series and the Backs of the $1 Educational Series....I was hoping it was the Large Brown Seal, but that would have been twice the price almost...LOL Thanks for stopping in...have a lot to go up on NS as well... Also added another $5 D Series 1928A as I try to finish that Set some time next year...only 9 more to go...LOL RickieB
Wow another great note, just when I think what else could RickieB possibly do to amaze me, this pops up hehe. Great pickup, a beautiful note!
Thanks Noost and North49guy... I appreciate the kind words...:smile While I have always admired this Series, that elusive Large Brown Seal remains a future target as well as some truly outstanding examples that are just out of my reach at the moment. On a note for the engraving, while Martha's Portrait was engravd by Charles Burt...Hessler's book references assistance by Alfred Sealey, but no credit is listed in his Bio for the work. A. Sealey was an outstanding Portrait engraver. This should wrap up the year for me on Large Size as I have a Series 1928A Small size goal and I would like to obtain a few more examples before years end. 2010 will be exciting and I have hopes of adding some unique pieces. Thanks alot for your post's and I am happy I can share them with you in this manner. Best regards, RickieB
Rick, Beautiful note ! Congrats on winning the auction. Definitely the caliber of note I've come to expect from you. Way to go !....................................................John
Guy's... just got 100% confirmation....with the market being a little soft I got this note at a fantastic deal in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by everyone... RickieB
Can you imagine the Contest questions for this Baby?? I would need to consult with a Professor of American History for that quiz! Thanks for stopping by Richie....I hope to see your collection one day! RickieB
Great looking note RickieB! The note looks like it just came off the printing press. Another nice addition to the collection and with a pedigree at that. Lou
