Well many of you will remember that the Fr#38 I had was put in a Contest cuz it did not meet the grade I wanted..LOL picky me huh? Dready won that contest and the note was a Mule on top of that! Well after long searches...I have found another! Here it is in what 3 people agree upon as a 64...LOL The light handling on the right side takes it out of Gem class but hey, these are hard to find in higher grades! It too is a Mule....off to PMG or PCGS not sure which one yet :thumb: All I need now is the Fr# 37a to complete the set...that puppy is an expensive proposition! This image is from the current owner..will post better when it returns!! RickieB
Would you pay the price?? I found the Fr#37a today and the guy wants almost 2K and it's only in AU!! Would you pay that price to finish the set? I just think it is pretty steep...indeed these are hard to come by but 2K?? Let me know your thoughts, please ?/?/?/? RickieB
I think that's a hard question for any of us to answer. In my case, I wouldn't because it is simply way beyond my budget (my yearly budget for all my hobbies probably doesn't even total $2K right now on my student budget). I guess you have to ask yourself if it is really important that you complete this set now? If so, is this a fair price for the grade (being I'm not an expert in this series I have no idea)? Finally, is this grade good enough? I know you have a very high grade collection and I'm sure every piece tends to walk that budget/quality line. Is an AU note good enough to satisfy you for this set or will you always look at is as the one that needs to be upgraded...but then again is a higher grade even affordable for you? I think these are all questions that only you can answer...and once you do the decision correct decision will be clear. I know that probably wasn't much help.
What is the average going price on this note in AU ? Finishing a set is a nice rewarding accomplishment,so if it's in the ballpark & I had that kind of cash I'd go for it!
The Dealer I bought it from is taking it to the Long Beach Show for walk through grading...I think it's PCGS, although both major and maybe all three of them will be there? RickieB
i agree if you have the money get that bad boy. but i know you. you will end up tracking another one down for a better price:kewl:
Urban...at that price, I am sure it will not go anywhere to soon! What kills me is it is a Tom Flynn Note and you know how I feel about him and his collection. I also found another Tom Flynn Note today for a cool 4.5K I am looking at this note as a possible lay-a-way, we'll see. I am sure that you will agree with me that all this adds up in a hurry and limits the number of notes you can amass at a give time point, however, it does add to the rarity factor of the collection.. Anyone need a Part time worker out there...LOL Janitor, Car washer, Salesman, Dishwasher, Hamburger flipper....????? RickieB
Nice, very nice. Go for the gold and do the layaway! What fun is it to just go out and just get it. The layaway will add suspense. BTW, I need some part time help finding a job, doesn't pay much but the company is good.
I have one of these .It is inside a plastic holder the obverse is sun damaged ,Light serial numbers ,but the obverse is perfect. What a shame
Just received word that the note graded out at a CHCU 64 PCGS... I am pretty happy about that!! RickieB
Congrats RickieB - Very happy for you! Not nearly as expensive as Big Brother on your other thread! That one had to leave a dent!!!
Darryl... Indeed Big Brother left a small dent.. but the Fr#243 and Fr#18 left gaping holes..LOL   So I do not get to buy many through out the year..but the ones I do, I try to make em count... Regards, RickieB
I would have thought that F18 and F2210B would have been in the same range? Funny thing is I wasn't paying attention when I looked up BB earlier and got it confused with F2408. You could have driven a dump truck through that hole! You always make them count RickieB!!!
