could this be new ? error? the reverse looks to be doubled ./letters/ mostly the eagles lt.wing left leg . or my eye just bad /or wishful thinking? thanks.

Nope, That is typical machine doubling helped along by die deterioration doubling. No doubled die and worth about a dollar
