I have this 1929 Sec. First Bank L.A. the Cut is VERY bad (LOW) And IT feels a bit odd.. I am new to currency.. Does this look Counterfeit? What might the Value Be? Thanks for any help.
According to Kelly's 5th..there are 499 known notes to be outstanding..yours may be just be 500. Third Title Small Size. RickieB
"there are 499 known notes to be outstanding..yours may be just be 500 " I hate to sound uneducated.. But.. What does that say about the Value? I know it is in rough shape? And it looks real? Would it be normal to have such a shift in the Print/Cut? OT: I have to say thanks.. I LOVE THIS SITE!
It does not say anything about value...it is not counterfeit, it is in what is considered "VG8 to VG -10". You would need to do a Archive search on Heritage or other Auction House to see what other examples have sold for. Since 500 or more may be extant, I would think it would not be too valuable...and yes, the way the paper is cut can vary and be quite diverse. RickieB
These notes were delivered to the banks in sheets and cut by the banks. They were not always precise in their cutting.
This is one I recently picked up at a local estate auction and it's the only known Type 2 $10 on this bank !!
i got a twenty from minnapolis minnesota, ten and a five from milwaulkee wi. I'm trying to find one from Grand Rapids Minnesota (where i'm from).
