Well this coin has me stumped. Silver coin. St. George slaying dragon on one side and Christ in the ship/storm on the other. I've had someone suggest it could be a "Count Von Mansfeld Thaler" from the period 1646-1715, to a equally old fishing charm! Anyways, weight is approximately .5 oz and coin is approx the size of a silver dollar 1.5" Would be looking for any confirmation or even valuation Thanks for all help.
Is it even a coin at all? It looks like it could be some kind of medallion or talisman carried by sailors for good luck......
don't know. A year ago someone mentioned the possibility of the Thaler (See my orig. posting) I don't know much about coins from that era or even area!
From what I could tell it is a religious medallion, the front shows St George as the patron saint of something, the rear shows security in a storm or tempest. Not a coin, it has no denomination or anything else indicating a coin.
