Finally, just got my invoice from the Goldberg Pre-Long Beach auction. Now just have to pay and wait for the mail. Two 2 cent pieces, a 1865 PR64RB, and a 1867 PR64RB. This will help out the ole registry score hya:
2 cent pieces are cool. never got into the proofs though, I just want to get a mint state small motto one of these days! congrats on winning. got my invoice today too and seems i didn't in a lot that I bid on w/ their internet live bidding and the bidding software told me that I was the high bid (even though that bid was 3 increments higher than I intended to bid due to lag!!!) and the internet bidding software confirmed I had won at the time. not too cool. do not rely on their live internet bidding at all, it's horrible and completely unreliable.
Thanks illini420, Oh wow, that's terrible news on the internet bid screwup. This was my first Goldberg auction so I filled out a bid sheet so there would be documentation of my bids. Good to know about their internet bidding. I sat and waited for my invoice to be sure something didn't go wrong.
Honestly sorry to hear about that, illini. Yep, current Live Bidding technology is non-evolved. It needs to grow up. Someday it will be much more robust.
Oh, not to worry, if it was something that I had to have, I would have contacted a trusted dealer and have them buy it for me live since I knew I had never used their live bidding before. I'll live And since I didn't win that coin, my invoice total was under $1500 so now I get to pay CA sales tax too, lucky me So, PennyGuy, when you going to put up pics of these two centers???? Did the Goldbergs have images of them???
The Auction Catalog pics arn't all that great....but then again neither are mine Both are PCGS PR64RB Here are the Goldberg pics, and a link to the catalog page53. I expect it will take a week or so to get them in hand. http://issuu.com/goldbergcoins/docs....issuu.com/v/dark/layout.xml&showFlipBtn=true
