I have had this coin for a long time. I'm not sure it it's real or not. It's about the same weight as a quarter. The date or some kind of date looking numbers are in the top left hand quarter. Looks like 1730 or 1130.
It is meant to be an 8 escudos cob from the Lima mint, dated (17)36. It is doubtful the piece is authentic. If real it would be gold, but yours does not look like it. An almost identical piece (most likely a fake) was shown in this forum a month or two ago, which lends further doubt to its authenticity.
