I've posted this for grading before, but now let's look at it from a different light. Do I have what I think I have? Compare the die markers of "Liberty" to the one on the copper coins sight for 1DO-002. Particularly the "B" and the "R". Also, the bottom of the "T" in "Trust" http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1909&die_id=1909p1do002&die_state=mds
I really don't see any doubling but if there is, it's really not worth mentioning. Just a really nice coin there.
Here's a large pic of a higher grade DDO currently on eBay that I found, on the FS-1102 the B and R of LIBERTY look a little filled in from the doubling and the first 9 in 1909 has a slightly thicker tail end.
Yeah, it's difficult to see the doubling but that seems to be the norm with this variety. I was going more off of the die markers with the website as a reference.
Anyone else have inputs? Do you think this fits the criteria for the DDO? It's the difference between a $15 coin and a $60 coin.
I have no doubt it is die #2. The date is thickened as is the case in a type 6 DDO, and the markers visible, including the clash under the neck are apparent. Illini420 called it right. Jim
I think they are supposed to look like this............. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s230/sumorada/dsc09873-3.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s230/sumorada/DSC09874-2.jpg
No, that is the 1909 DDO Die #1 FS#01-1909-1101, not the die #2.FS#01-1909-1102 like the original poster shows and has. Jim
