Why did this http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-Keelboat-U...325218075QQcategoryZ41089QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem sell for over $1000? Maybe i am missing something.
Shipping cost is $5.00 which doesn't indicate more than a two-roll set being sold. The ad is somewhat confusing, but I suspect that two people who make outrageous bids to be sure they get something finally met up with each other.
The odd thing is that the winner bid a full six minutes after the first absurd bid. He had to know what he was doing. It was his first bid on the item.
Considering that both high bids start with 14, is it possible that they missed a decimal point and intended to bid 14 dollars plus some amount of cents?
It looks like the price has gone up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41089&item=8324371503
HaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....heeeeeeeeeeeee...Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..thats funny! RickieB
I sent an email to the seller as follows: "Hello, was this for a two roll set? What did you do; let the bidder off the hook?" The seller emailed me the following: "Yes I let them off the hook it was a typo on their bid. It was for a simple two roll set." Now, it appears that there were two typos from two bidders. That seems like a statistical anomaly. I still suspect the first bidder (who was outbid) didn't make a mistake, and the second winning bidder was doing the same thing. I have never seen this happen before, but I have always feared it would happen to me if I went overboard on a bid.
