Thank you greeny for some reason I've got problems posting links from the mints web site , I know I enter the right web address but when you click it won't post :desk: :rolling:
Good choice , but both the boyscout and the Disabled American Veterans are on the top of my list as wonderful causes & both need all our support, as a collector I'll a few of both coins
pappy-o I thank your son and daughter in law for their service in the USAF. I served 26 years in the US Air force. And I do not expect that the civilian population owe me anything, period, It is totally volunteer. The US government may forget our veterans, but I will not. Only people that have served can relate to the bond between military personnel as I have entrusted my military comrads with my life at times. Any veteran of military service is welcome in my home. I Agree with you that money towards a new memorial would be better suited for the vets themselves, they are the ones that deserve it the most, they have earned it. Thank you MSgt Johnson (Retired USAF 1 May 2009) God Speed and God Bless.
I thank you MSgt Johnson for all your years of dedicated service to this wonderful Country of ours :thumb:
Lets don't forget folks that the Disabled American Veterans Comm. Coin will be out in a few weeks , oh boy can't wait :hail:
the disabled coin does not especially appeal to me, neither does the boy/girl scout coin, so I will probably let those coins pass me by.
Good choices to start with I'll be getting both also can't wait , just wish they would have done better on the Boy Scout design , oh well , good org.:kewl:
Proof silver is what I collect & can't wait , I'am also looking forward to the annual 2010 proof set with those Nat'l. Park quarters in it :smile
Nothing like a bunch of feet on a coin. The design of the coin, in my opinion is ugly but the idea is great. They could have put a more courageous design though, show them in battle. But if it's a disabled vet coin, I guess it stands. Odds are, I wont be buying one, but you never know...if this thing turns out to be like the lincoln dollar, I think it wouldn't hurt to buy some and sell some. This coin is certainly better than that boy scout commemorative!
The design reminds me of the Little Rock Commemorative. I'm not a real fan of the design either, but I will be pickin' up a pair....:smile
Your right greeny about the designs of the Boy Scouts & the Disabled Veterans but I'll be still buying some of both , with me its what they stand for & not the designs :smile
