Couple finds in the drawer so far this week:

    A 1964 D Quarter and a 1944 D Wheat Cent.

I am honestly suprised how many silver quarters I have grabbed from circulation so far; I figured I would never see one when I first started!

The V Nickel is really cool!!! Also, was the 1864 cent a copper nickel or a bronze??? Either way it's pretty cool to get!

Nice find on the V Nickel. I never find anything in nickels. I just did another whole box last night and tonight and didn't even find a silver war nickel. The most interesting finds were a '40 and 2x'41s. Not too exciting.

I think I may leave nickels for you cubs.

Today, the bank had 7 dollars worth of loose halves and I found one 1969 40%er.

The other side of searching. $1500 and many many banks later, I have found... Nothing to speak of. Think I'll order a couple boxes of halves tomorrow. Every time gets me closer to the next find.

Are the WAMs worth much? I started looking for them specifically my last couple of boxes. I get more excited about just finding wheats to tell you the truth.

I did a couple of rolls of dimes today with my boy who has a couple of whitman books. He's just four, so he goes through them kind of slow.

No interesting finds, just filled some holes in his folders.

The 98 and 00 WAMs are 7 to 10 bucks or so (I think), can be more if in AU or better condition. The 99 is worth significantly more as it is much more rare.

Just looked through $36 in nickels found a 1942 (no mint mark) ,1943P silver, and 7 from the 50's. I thought I might put together a set by roll searching so this was a start. Has anyone got any pointers as to what I might look for or how hard this is to accomplish.
    Thanks Kent

Went to several banks today, a few with nothing. Two banks that order me halves did not get any in this week, :( , so I went searching for loose ones.

At one bank, one that I had never before visited, I asked for halves, and the teller said, "Yes, a few of them.....and some of them are silver." I paid for three dollar's worth of halves and there was both a 67 and an AU 68. :) :D :) I find it interesting, though, that she knew they were silver and didn't take them (maybe there is a bank rule that they cannot).

At some other banks, I got 6 star notes, 5 Ikes, 2 Log Cabins, and 6 Professional Life.

I then searched 5 cent rolls and found 1 54 wheat, and in 3 nickel rolls, I found one 55.

Hopefully I can find one box of halves that I can go through this weekend....
