I have thought about starting a set of Jefferson Nickels by searching rolls, and i was curious if any of you that collect the Jeffersons do this? If so is it very likely I will find any AU/BU nickels in these rolls? I have put together a lot of Lincoln sets from 1941 and up with coins found in rolls and have found from the 70's to current you can find AU or better red cents especially the last 20 years and I was wanting to know if the Nickels are the same or would I just be waisting my time looking for them. One more thing has anyone seedn the '09 nickels in circulation yet I use 4 banks and none of them have received any '09 nickels or '09 dimes, just curious and Thanks Kent

You can find a lot of nice Jeffersons in roll searches. The true BU coin is uncommon but not rare. Even the silver nickels can be found if you go through enough rolls. It's a fun set to gather this way. Enjoy it.

Prior to a bunch of rolls, try a bank for a bag of Nickels. Remember that in most instances, those rolls are from people that have searched the heck out of those and now it's your turn for the spoils. A bag may have been sitting for a long, long time in the banks vaults. I forgot how much a bag costs, but could be well worth the cost. I used to do that and amost filled an album from the first bags.
