The photos show quite a bit of chatter with no major hits. I'd guess around MS63 for the obverse, The reverse is just hammered and at least from the photos does not show much chatter so maybe MS65 net grade MS64
Thanks gang. I called it a 63/64 myself. I have 3 GSA Morgans and I was keeping this one because it was the cleanest of the bunch. I haven't focused on my Morgan set in a while and wanted to make sure that I wasn't too rusty on my grading. The other two are a 82CC and 83CC. Both are terrific coins with very nice mirror background, but both also have a lot of bag marks.
Joe nice , GSA Morgan , It appears about average for the '84CC GSA coins . I had three '84s and yours is about the same as the best of my three , a solid 63 and the tpgs usually grade CCs coins a point higher , so if you ever send it in to a tpg you'd probably get a 64 , nice strike and a nice coin . rzage
A bag marked Morgan? What are the odds? LOL truly amazing how splendid some of those 60s released Morgans are. I love the deep mirrors. almost easier to find a MS 1884cc than a VF ( the affordability of such nice coins is unfortunately a slippery slope makes you want to have all the other Morgans on that album page just as nice $$$$$$
IMO the coin does have enough bag marks on the obverse to make it a MS63 and the reverse is nice enough for a MS64. Is that a yellowing discoloration on the reverse under the ONE or is that a shadow. As it is, I don't own any CC Morgans no less a GSA. But, a very nice coin. Bruce
I think it has a good chance at a 64. Looks really clean to me and very similar to other 64s I've seen.
