Well I think the craziest thing that I ever did was go white water rafting. First trip ever and a rapid kicked the boat sideways (my side actually). The hand of the river god came into the boat and sucked me right into the rapid we were in. Needless to say when i tried to surface i was underneath the boat and evidentually found my way out. The bad part it was one of those rapids that has the chance of sucking you back in.
Sorry, I just saw the note to add something interesting about yourself. Well, I started collecting coins from my paper route. What really got me going were two events: 1) First was finding an Indian Head cent, a 1909, in my mother's change the first day that I was trying to fill a Lincoln cent album. At first I just thought that it was a foreign cion. Then I turned it over. The next day I was in the library reading a copy of Yeoman's red book, and have been fascinated. 2) The next event was getting a 1916 Barber quarter for payment on my paper route, I remember looking back at the house and seeing the person looking at me. I thought (once again) that it was a foreign coin, until I turned it over. I still rememebr the look of that eagle on the reverse. It was love at first sight. I still wonder if they thought that they had started a collector? or that they screwed the kid? In spite of periods when I took a break from collecting, I never really completely gave it up. Today I specialize in Barber dimes, quarters, and half dollars. And, of course, the ubiquitous Red Books. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the contest.
