Long Beach Show Roll Call - Sept. 10-12, 2009

Ok everyone, the next big Long Beach show is next weekend!!!! September 10-12, 2009. Anyone else going??

I have to work all week so I can't make it until the last day, Saturday 9/12, but should still be worth the trip as my favorite few dealers usually stay for the Saturday, unlike those mean East Coast dealers who leave the show Friday night and never get to see us locals who have jobs

Would be fun to meet up and show off our new purchases if anyone else will be there Saturday.

Are you sure about those dates? That is Tuesday through Thursday.

 

I think he means 10-12th..

Also, I'll try to make it all 3 days but if not.. what are the best days to go? I'd think Friday and Saturday right?

But of course I'm wrong, it's defintiely the 10-12. Sorry about the confusion, and they don't let me edit the title here :rolling:

 

Your linked site says it and I will swear that the coupon used to say it, but not any more.

 

Can't make it, so will have to rely on the excellent show reports I have come to expect from illini, jack, Charmy, et. al. (hint, hint...)

BNB, if you go Friday, there will be more action on the show floor for sure and a few of the East Coast dealers will still be there. A few of them pack up and leave Friday night and will not be there on Saturday. Also, you'll have more time to browse on Friday since the show runs longer 10am-7pm and most of the dealers won't pack up until probably the 5-7pm range. On Saturday, the advertised hours are 10-5pm, but some dealers will start packing up their coins around 1pm and the floor will be pretty dead by 3pm. Of course, on the Saturday at the show, it's much easier to view the coins as there are less folks at each table to you get better attention from the dealers who are still there. If I could get off work Friday, I'd be going then instead of Saturday, but that ain't the case.

 

Of course I'll be there - table 848 as usual! Please stop by! I heard they are banning dealers from bringing in their own food, so shhhh, don't tell, but you can bet I'll have the usual wine and crackers in the pm.

 

That's acutally great news for me... now I can just bring in snacks to trade w/ dealers rather than having to trade my coins

I agree. It was either last time around or the time before that gold went up a bunch just before the Long Beach show and that's all the dealers were talking about is selling precious metals. Seemed to be pretty good for business all around.

And from what I remember of the show layout, I'd say 630ish for a table would be right in the middle of the good area :thumb:
