The 36 coin mint sets will be the only chance to get a 2009 D nickel and dime for a while. How many sets will you buy and will you strip them for individual coins?

I'm thinking three but may go as high as five. I've already got 5 clad and 3 silver proof sets. Since I'm not seeing any nickels, dimes, and quarters in circulation, I guess I'll need to buy the mint sets.

I have plans to buy 10 sets just to see where the price goes later. I may break up a couple for some of the single coins. When I can I try to get 10 of each new release, like both proof sets and the Lincolns. I figure they will be worth at least what I paid for them a year from now and hopefully more. Look what happened to the price on the 2008 clad Proof sets when the mint sold out.

I'll stick with my budget allotment of buying 5 sets.

My subscription is 2 a year but I may buy more. I usually keep one and break open the other for albums.

Probably get a couple of sets for my collection. Will get the proof silver set and maybe a LP3, or what ever they are, Lincoln cents roll if they are still around.

Trying to save a few bucks on shipping and not really in any hurry.

Just one for me, buy a set every year and I don't see anything special about the 2009 mint set for the long run...

I'll go with 2. Keep on intact and break one for my Dansco albums.

I think it'll be special because of the cents and the territorial quarters but thats about it. Honestly if people are going to hoard these because of the nickel and dime I think they have a big surprise coming... I dont think they'll have a huge premium in the long run, but who knows. I'll probably buy two and stash them away and see where they are at in a few years.

I think you should buy them if you really want them thats how I look at most things. Im really not terribly concerned with value its about the coins and collecting to me... although I'd like them to at least retain some value in the long run.

There's a very interesting mix of coins in this set which should make them very popular. I have a subscription for 20. If I want more, I'll just get them on eBay...probably for near the issue price.
