I need some help with the GRADE and approximate PRICE of this coin, I can provide better detailed pictures in a few weeks.

Strickly my opinion, but I think the hit on the E in CENT would limit the coin to a MS64. Can't tell for sure based on the pics, but there might be something on the shoulder on the obverse - could just be the pic. I'd say value would be about $40.

Nice looking coin,I would have to agree with DMJMSP on his evaluation and price of this coin.

If you mean have it graded by a third party, I'd say the added cost would be more than the coins worth.

If you want it graded that is total up to you...most people only slab coins that are valued at more than $100....the way I do it is...any key date coin...any RED cent...any Proof Franklin that is CAMEO....

Sure I have sent in a few others but they were like ASE with errors and such...

So if you want to keep this coin RED I would say a NGC slab is the best way or a airtight...and that last way is the way I would go...at least for now.

    Really nice looking VDB...

It will cost you anywhere from $15 to $30 to slab it with a reputible grading service, so consider this (along with S&H) if you plan to submit it. Otherwise, keep it in an Air Tite holder or Intercept Shield 2x2 so that Red stays Red! [IMG]

Keep in mind that many 1909 VDB's were hoarded when they were released and many can be found in MS65RD condition for around $55 to $70 (PCGS, NGC graded)

The 1909-P's really jump in price if they are graded by PCGS, NGC and ANACS as MS65RD or better because they were not as hoarded as much as the VDB's even though 72 million were minted. These coins were more circulated and today they cost more than the 1909-VDB in MS65RD grades or better.

    Hope this helps...
