I just came across a new dealer near some family members and was surfing their website to find this 1962-D FBL Franklin. Is it just me or the pics, or does anyone else think the bell lines on this coin are non-present?

Almost enough to scare me away from the guy....

It only looks like there is the bottom row of bell lines. Maybe this is the first Franklin he's seen and thinks there is only one section of bell lines. He thinks that the bottom portion is the only portion of lines and since they're all there, he considers it FBL. IMO

I'd agree if it was someone just getting into them. He states he's been collecting since 1957!

You can clearly tell there are huge cuts on the upper portion of bell lines. If the lines were Full, than these cut would impair the complete line, or cut it into two make it incomplete bell lines. So, even if the pics aren't clear, you can still tell it isn't full. Maybe he typed it wrong, just last night on ebay someone's description was," if slabbed, this coin would grade G-4 to AG-6. :desk:

I ran into a dealer or so called dealer who thought FBL was the crack now wore off! I was like No....... its not! Duh! Granted I never prefess to know everything about coins or anything for that matter but give me a break. The coin pictured I would only pay spot for ....sorry but it's just a average coin.

Neither row of bell lines appears anywhere close to full. If the seller has been at it for 50+ years, he is either misinformed or purposely misrepresented the coin.

Here's another one slightly better... "Blast White full bell lines"

Thanks for the opinions. I think I'll pass on dealing with this guy.

Based on the limited sample I've seen, I think that's a good idea. I checked his website and saw that the first coin was also listed as uncirculated, and it didn't appear to be so.
