What's she waiting for? Why would she have her hopes up if she has absolutely no idea what's in the box? You would think this is something you would want to find out sooner rather than later if you were planning to rely on it.

You should direct your competitor to this thread, he might realize he got a good deal after reading these posts.

Now that is sort of a great idea when dealing with friends, family and/or neighbors. If they have something, post it here, get opinions, have them over and show them what everyone says. I never thought of that. Might not really work all the time but sure better than the other situations.

I get to help folks a few times a year with small collections and have a great time doing it. It's a great feeling to pull something really cool out of a group of common stuff.
Once I was helping a friend with a Lincoln set in an old cardboard album. The 09S VDB and the 14D were missing. The 09S looked to be fine or better so I took it out of the hole to see the reverse. It was the VDB in the wrong hole. That's what I call fun.

When I get to do these I'll have the owner help me sort and make a quick list with a fair idea of value. Anything really cool gets a holder if it's banging around loose. Some are really happy knowing a dime is worth about a buck and others thought it was worth a hundred. Most of the time I'll suggest to the owner to make a gift of it to a young family member. It's a nice way of saying the collection is of little value.
